RRB NTPC Recruitment 2024, Check Notifications, Eligibility Criteria, Selection Process

The RRB NTPC stands for Railway Recruitment Board Non-Technical Popular category. RRB NTPC recruitment for 2024 will start soon. You can apply to various positions through their online portal. Once the notification is released, interested candidates should visit the Indian Railways official website. 

The selection process is very vast as well as diverse. All the positions are non-technical which means that candidates don’t require a lot of technical knowledge and experience to apply for these positions.

The notification for the recruitment process will be released soon. RRB NTPC will have more than 35 thousand vacancies nationwide. The vacancies will be in the following positions-

RRB NTPC Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are applying for the position of station master and traffic assistant need to go through all the stages of the RRB NTPC exam. These stages are CBT one, CBT two, typing skill test, document verification, and medical exam.  

Candidates who are applying for the positions of Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, and Senior Time Keeper also need to go through CBT 1, 2, CBAT, document verification, and medical examination. 

Candidates who are applying for the position of Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Commercial Apprentice need to go through CBT one, CBT two, document verification and a medical exam. 

 

RRB NTPC Exam pattern

The first computer based test will have 100 questions from various subjects such as general awareness, general mathematics, general intelligence, and reasoning. The duration of the test will be 90 minutes. The second computer based test will have 120 questions from subjects like general awareness, general mathematics, general intelligence and reasoning and general science. The duration of this test will also be 90 minutes. One also needs to qualify the computer based typing skills test after which you will have to go through a medical examination. However, any changes in the exam will be cleared out with the release of the notification.

 

RRB NTPC ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA  

1. Nationality: Interested candidates can only apply if they belong from any of the following countries- 

  • a citizen of India, or
  • a subject of Nepal, or
  • a subject of Bhutan, or
  • a Tibetan refugee who entered India before January 1, 1962, to stay permanently,
  • a person of Indian descent who immigrated from the following countries to settle in India:
  • Pakistan
  • Burma
  • Sri Lanka
  • Kenya
  • Uganda
  • The United Republic of Tanzania
  • Zambia
  • Malawi
  • Zaire
  • Ethiopia
  • Vietnam  

2. Age limit: The minimum age of trusted candidates should be 18 years while the maximum age should be 30 years. The RRB NTPC also provides a relaxation for certain minorities. SC/ST categories have an age relaxation of up to 5 years. Other backward classes (OBC) have an age relaxation of up to 3 years. For Ex-servicemen (Ex-SM), age relaxation depends on the duration of time spent in the military plus 3 years of extra relaxation. People with benchmark disabilities also get age relaxation which is 10 years for general category, 13 years for OBC category and 15 years for SC/ST category.

3. Educational qualifications: Candidates who are applying for the positions of Junior Clerk, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk, Senior Clerk, and Senior Time Keeper need 12th class or equivalent qualification. Candidates applying for the positions of Traffic Assistant and Goods Guard need to have a bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognised university. The requirement for the rest of the positions is a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

Steps to fill the application form for RRB NTPC 2024

  1. Go to your regional website for RRB.
  2. Look for an option that says “Recruitment of NTPC 2024”
  3. You will see an option that says “Registration”. Click on it and create your account. 
  4. After you are done creating your account, log in into it by providing your credentials. 
  5. Enter all your required details and educational qualifications. 
  6. After that, provide a scanned copy of all your required documents. Submit the required fee to finish your application process.

 

RRB NTPC 2024 fees

General and OBC candidates need to pay an application fee of ₹500. All other candidates such as SC/ST need to pay a fee of ₹250.
